Scouts Beach Event Evening

On Monday 6 February, the scouts will be holding a ’ beach event’ involving water activities such as swimming, boogey boarding, kite flying and other fantastic activities.

We will also have fish and chips on the beach for dinner.

Starting at 5.30pm at the magill hall, we will travel to Glenelg, and return to the magill hall at 9pm.

Clean - Up Australia Day

Group activity. Bring your tongs / gloves if you have them.
We will be cleaning up around the Creek and Sub Station.
Council will be picking up our rubbish from the Hall the next day.
WEAR UNIFORM TOP & SCARFE
Bring something warm if necessary, and a drink bottle

Pirates of the Murray

Ahoy matey!

For this year group camp, t’ Pirates o’ t’ Murray be invadin’ Roonka.

In t’ mean time start practisin’ t’ talk like a pirate (see below) or you be goin’ t’ look like a “lubber”!

ANZAC Sleep Over and Dawn Service

Supper and Sleep Over at Magill, followed by Dawn Service at the Gums and Breakfast at the Magill RSL.
$5 donation (partly to cover supper) but mostly as a donation to the RSL. In the past we have almost run out of room. In 2010 we had people sleeping in the conference room as well as down stairs. 80 odd people seems to be the optimal. AND others from other Groups are already expressing interest in joining us at Magill.

Branch Scout Hike

A themed patrol based hike through the local forests, with activity checkpoints. Transport provided and included in cost.

AJ2013 Shakedown Camp

Shakedown Camp is a practice camp for Jamboree Troops. It is an opportunity for your Jamboree Troop to gear up and sort themselves out for the Jamboree. It gives you opportunities to meet fellow Troop members (Some who you may not have met before), meet your Leaders, sort out your Patrols and lots more!

The cost of this weekend is the cost of food as determined by your Troop (just like a normal Scout camp). All other costs are covered by the Contingent and the fees you pay for the Jamboree.

An end of year weekend for Venturers and older Scouts who must have reached their 14th Birthday by Friday 3rd December 2012.

You need to team up with a ‘host’ Venturing Unit to go to this event.
